Asbestosis

Houston, Texas, Asbestosis Attorneys

Asbestosis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the parenchymal tissue of the lungs, caused by prolonged inhalation of asbestos fibers. Asbestosis sufferers are faced with a severe shortness of breath (dyspnea) and are at an increased risk of developing a more serious asbestos-related disease like malignant mesothelioma or an asbestos related lung cancer. Although asbestosis is often not fatal, it can severely limit a person’s total lung capacity and lead to heart failure.

Please fill out our Intake Form.

Asbestosis is not malignant, although it increases the likelihood that a person could develop mesothelioma, lung cancer, or other malignancy. At The Bogdan Law Firm, we represent individuals who have been diagnosed with asbestosis. Asbestosis is caused by exposure to asbestos, through the inhalation of asbestos fibers.

If you or someone you know have been diagnosed with asbestosis, contact The Bogdan Law Firm today. Many questions can be explained or explored at an initial conference. The Bogdan Law Firm does not charge for an initial conference, which can be done by telephone, email, or an office visit. At the conclusion of the initial conference, the injured person is in a better position to evaluate how to proceed.

Symptoms of Asbestosis

Asbestosis is often not fatal; however, it can reduce the activities in which you are able to participate. Symptoms of asbestosis include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Cough

There is no cure for asbestosis, and the likelihood of a person developing mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other cancers is increased. Workers who were exposed to asbestos fibers through mining, manufacturing, handling, or removing asbestos are at risk.

Similar to mesothelioma, asbestosis does not surface until years after the exposure. It is important to find an attorney who is experienced at uncovering all possible liable parties. Often, companies will have dissolved, changed names, or merged with other companies. Products may no longer be manufactured by the same companies or may be out of production. Our firm is experienced at investigating all possible exposures to asbestos. We help workers from a variety of occupations including:

  • Plant workers
  • Refinery workers
  • Operators

  • Boilermakers
